HORMONAL ACNE

The causes of acne are multiple: diet, stress, pollution, bad cosmetics and of course: hormones. When it appears in adolescence, is cyclical or linked to a known hormonal imbalance (such as polycystic ovary syndrome for example), it is called “hormonal”.

Hormonal acne is often mixed acne, that is to say with white pimples and inflamed pimples (with a red halo around them), located preferentially on the lower part of the face.

To act on this type of acne, you must target a particular molecule: 5α-reductase, which transforms testosterone into a pro-acne hormone. By reducing its activity, we reduce the primary causes of acne: overproduction of sebum and excessive proliferation of keratinocytes (skin cells).

Of course, Novexpert treatments intended for people suffering from hormonal acne also relieve symptoms thanks to anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antibacterial active ingredients that can eliminate up to 100% of the acne bacteria, C.acnes.
